The Tropical Destination
The Pacific Coast has a tropical climate and landscape. Dotted
with the tropical forests and sandy beaches, even white sands at
time, this place has charmed one and all with its natural and
scenic beauty.
Exploring the Pacific Coast
One of the chief attractions on the Pacific Coast is the town of
Puntarenas, an old fishing port. You can go out on exploration of
Gulf Islands, for fishing trips or looking for tourist attractions
at Nicoya Peninsula. You can also go to the port of Caldera. The
Pacific Coast has not only beautiful beaches, but also a beautiful
landscaping of mountains and rivers. Take a turn towards the
village of Tárcoles. A boat ride from here is going to make
you land up right in the midst of the crocodile country. Another
very interesting and unusual thing you can do here is going for
horse riding in La Catarata. Towards the end of the ride the horses
make you carry till the natural pools at the top where you can take
a dip in the waters and cool off. For all those who love
watersports and adventure there is Quepos, with sparkling blue
waters. Quepos is actually a village turned resort and it has
captured the fancy of many anglers and adventure lovers.
A nature lover's delight
The Carara Biological Reserve comprises many ecosystems and an
amazing variety of flora and fauna. You can find here lush
evergreen forests and more than 750 species of animals, some of
them endangered and exquisite like the white-tailed deer, margay
cat, spider monkey, the two-toed sloth, and kinkajou. The Manuel
Antonio National Park is one of the most beautiful parks with its
white sand beaches lined up with the evergreen forests and
mountains. The whole place is a nature lover's delight because of
its beautiful scape as well as the species frequenting and staying
in the park. A visit to the Pacific Coast is like a trip in the lap
of nature, whether you want to take a break from the rigorous
schedule or revel in the bounty of nature, this is the perfect
destination to be. You can also head for Herradura Beach that
offers a gamut of sporting activities like snorkelling, skiing and
windsurfing. The beach also offers a romantic sunset tour. In stark
contrast to the Herradura Beach is the Jacó Beach, where you
can spend an ideal holiday with its happening nightlife, a range of
shopping options and watersports options. At Jacó you can
choose to sail on the white waters or go for scuba diving.
